A quick look at an Arlington project

We wanted to share a project with all of our wonderful and loyal followers! This Arlington client has a beautiful home and existing furniture, but she just needed a little guidance on how to pull it all together. We helped her select paint colors, area rugs, accent furniture, lighting and artwork to really make her space fabulous.

As you can tell by these pictures from the initial consultation, she has amazing architectural features like the built-ins and fireplace. She also has existing woven shades, a few accessories and white leather furniture, all which she was interested in keeping. Her dilemma was that the space needed more excitement, color and style. The beautiful architectural features seemed lost in the space because of the monochromatic color palette. We were able to incorporate all of her existing elements into our design and put together an eclectic and vibrant look consistent with our client’s style.

Wow… look at this transformation! The area rug we used has so much texture and dimension and we love the way it contrasts with the sleek hardware floors. We chose Benjamin Moore’s Davenport Tan for the walls and a copper-orange accent wall in Sherwin Williams Truepenny to create a warm and inviting color palette. Notice how much the built-ins stand out against the walls now. We added some accessories in the built-ins as well. Books, vases, boxes and statues are great accessories for shelves and work best if they are all mixed in together. We placed the bright red and orange tray on the client’s white ottoman to add a pop of color against the neutral furniture and rug.

Colorful pillows help add excitement to furniture with solid upholstery. We carried out the orange theme from the accent wall in the pillows and artwork. This artwork fits the space perfectly and adds a huge amount of interest to this previously bare wall.
We created a cozy reading spot for our client by selecting a sleek chaise lounge and placing it by the window. W thought the cut ribbon pillow and navy throw worked really well in this space because they add the perfect amount of color and softness. We also love the way the texture of the woven shades relates to the texture of the area rug.
