Center of Attention (+ Free Pillows!)

by Melanie, November 19, 2012

Every Thanksgiving table has one:  the know-it-all brother-in-law, the tipsy old aunt, the uncle who tells inappropriate jokes, the spoiled baby of the family.  One (or all) of these mixed with the over-cooked turkey and over-bountiful side dishes is bound to make you crazy but it’s all part of the beloved Thanksgiving tradition.  Why do so many wrong things feel so right?
Guess that’s what they mean by crazy love.
But even if you cook like Martha Stewart and your family is blissfully free of obnoxious characters or awkward dynamics, it is still a sure bet that your Thanksgiving table will be overcome with food and family vying for your attention.
Put a little beauty in the center of the madness with these Thanksgiving table ideas….
Upcycle!  We glammed up our Halloween pumpkins with silver spray paint to dress the table for a recent event at Green Pig Bistro. (Try their food after the turkey is all gone — delicious!).
Speaking of glam, we love the gold and black combo here:

Or keep your pumpkins earthy with branches and berries from your yard:

Love the pillar candles marching down this table — simple idea, huge impact!

Crazy love this purple runner as a stage for nature’s bounty.
So when your stomach is overstuffed and your tipsy aunt laughs too hard at a lewd joke told by your bombastic uncle, just take a deep breath, gaze at your lovely table and give thanks for crazy, bountiful love.
Do it!
